The task was to create a film to be shown online and in-store for Sony’s latest series of 3D TVs. The challenge was to portray the depth of 3D and visually describe how 3D transforms the viewing experience but using a 2D medium!

“We wanted to portray the concept of 3D without the clichéd solution of using computer-generated images flying out of a TV screen”. Hugo and Cat

Pre-production is a precise and lengthy process in most cases but time was not a luxury we had this time. It was a great benefit that Director Kristof Harling was technically minded and our meetings we made great progress, transferring scribbled ideas for shots from pieces of paper into CAD rendered movies to show the camera moves so that we could work out projector positions and equipment required.

“We’re delighted with the video – not only does it do a great job of communicating the benefits of 3D but it really captures the essence of the Sony brand. Hugo & Cat have proved, once again, that they can handle projects of this scale, delivering high quality work that’s exciting, innovative and does exactly what it’s supposed to.” Online Marketing Manager, Sony TV Europe
